This year FIESA dedicates another edition to the theme Music showing in sand many of the timeless and everlasting figures of musical history who populate the collective universe, reproducing and creating objects and scenes depicting the music, with pieces that reach up to twelve feet high.

The theme of the 11th Festival was “Music”: The sand sculptures depicting musical genres of various countries of the world, the origins of music and musical expression, the music within other arts such as dance, opera, circus, theater and film, enlivened the 11th Sand Sculpture Festival with its seventy amazing scenes and hundreds of individual compositions in sand.

In September 2012, ProSandArt developed a concept regarding the contest for the election of the 7 Natural Wonders of Portugal (Beaches of Portugal) and produced a performance for the celebration of contest, by creating the scenario in sand. This event was co-produced in Troia in cooperation with Tavolanostra – Global Events.
The scenario, which involved the entire stage and audience spaces, made grandiose and imposing sand sculptures inspired by the theme “Beaches of Portugal”, and the legendary Portuguese Adamastor was the central character of the performance.
The sand sculptures as a huge stage involved musical performances and dance shows, with the companion of sound and light performances in the background. And the whole performance centered around a contemporary narrative about the interaction between man and the universe and eternity.
The theme of 10th Festival of FIESA was “Idols”: Forty thousand tons of sand were transformed into figures who have been idolized throughout the history. Within the festival, amazing sand sculptures gave life in sand to gods and beliefs from antiquity as well as contemporary icons like Cristiano Ronaldo, Michael Jackson, Bob Marley, Marilyn Monroe, Albert Einstein, Mahatma Gandhi and Shakira among many others, who left a trace in realms of film, music, sports, politics, science, etc..

FIESA 2011 In its 9th edition, the theme of the exhibition was Animal Kingdom, cartooning the world of men through the animals, which appeared in sand portraying human behaviors and various aspects of our society.

FIESA 2010 was the 8th edition of the exhibition where the theme was inspired by the LIVING WORLD. The fauna and flora of the five continents since the prehistory to the present day, with areas dedicated to extinct animals, mythological and possible forms of extraterrestrial life.

In 2010 ProSandArt held and created a promotional event with sand sculptures for Movistar in Mar de Plata city in Argentina. The aim of the project was to promote the brand and strengthen its ties with society.
To realize this aim, ProSandArt designed and produced a set of sand sculptures, inspired by Movistar slogan “We are more, we can do more”. By this way, characters with various professions, cars and animals were depicted together as building the brand logo of the firm, which is the World.
FIESA 2009 was the 7th edition of FIESA, dedicated to the theme “Discoveries“, giving visitors a fascinating journey through time and history of the evolution of humanity.

FIESA 2008 was the 6th edition of FIESA, dedicated to the cinema of HOLLYWOOD. Fiction, humor and fantasy were some of the ingrediants that we could find represented in sand, and also the most famous caracteres from the movies like, Elvis Presley and Marlyn Monroe, and others well knowned around the world.

FIESA 2007 was the 5th edition of FIESA and presented as theme “WONDERS OF THE WORLD”, in homage to art, to beauty and to life. It was a journey around the world, were past and present fused in a multicultural hymn to mankind, representing the ancient, the modern, the scientific and the Portuguese wonders.
Beach Park Sand City was the 2nd International Sand Sculpture Festival made by ProSandArt in Antalya -Turkey, with the theme “1001 NIGHTS”. Sherazade and the great Shariman Sultan wore the hostesses of this enchanted city were we could find, among others, Aladin and the wonderful magic lamp, Ali Baba and the forty thieves, and the seven trips of Simbá the sailor.

Lara Sand City, titled as “Myths of Anatolia ”, is the first international sand sculpture festivals organized by ProSandArt in Turkey. Lara Sand City in which Adam & Eve, Santa Claus, Seven Sleepers, Gordion’s Knot, Galata Tower, Mt. Nemrut Noah’s Ark, Mt Ida, Trojan Horse were chosen as its subject was organized in Antalya and was visited by 100.000 visitors.

Fiesa 2006, titled as “Mythologies”, is the last activity of the international sand sculpture festivals series organized by ProSandArt and was visited by 150.000 visitors.
Fiesa 2005, titled as “Lost Worlds”, is the third activity of the international sand sculpture festivals series organized by ProSandArt. Fiesa 2005 in which the ancient civilizations like Maya, Inca, Mesopotamia and Egypt were chosen as its subject was organized in Algarve, Portugal and was visited by 150.000 visitors. Several daily workshops were organized for the visitors in the festival.
The Figueira da Foz 2005 International Sand Sculpture Competition held in Figuiera da Foz in 2005 was occurred by the participation of 18 sculptors from 12 countries. The competition organized by ProSandArt was visited and watched by approximately 800.000 audiences.

Fiesa 2004, the second international sand sculpture festival organized by ProSandArt, is held by the title and the theme of the “Stories of Enchantment”. In this festival ProSandArt has organized daily sand sculpting workshops for the visitors, and especially for parents and their children. In addition to this, some further performing works were dedicated to stone and wood, some courses were given on plastic arts, pedagogic courses for children were held on Sundays, and other kinds of daily activities were included for the participation of the visitors.
This activity held in 2004 was organized in a big shopping center named Almada Forum in Lisboa with the intention of promotion. Name of the event was “É Obra” and sculptures have been seen by 300.000 people in 30 days of exhibition.

This activity held in 2004 was organized on public beach of Figueira da Foz with the intention of presenting and introducing the Fiesa 2004 International Sand Sculpture Festival to a much more large mass of people. Name of the event was “Brincar na areia”, on this event ProSandArt also held public workshops during one week. Sculptures exhibited 8 weeks on the beach without the entrance fee.

Fiesa 2003 which was recognized as the biggest sand sculpture park of the world was the first circle of the international sand sculpture festivals organized by ProSandArt. It enabled the ProSandArt to gain an international reputation. It was brought into life with the idea of an alternative cultural activity in Algarve . This festival was welcomed by the public and the local, national and international media with an immense interest.
